Sledding Snowman Stocking #6 & other stuff...

Snowman number 1 is done!
I had quite a productive weekend besides the above: I finished sewing together the Christmas Sled Stocking with the backing fabric I bought.
The red backing fabric has a sort of weave pattern to it and I love how it looks.

Then I finished off one of the Christmas placemats I've been sewing for months. I just wanted to get one finished - I've got about 9 patchwork fronts done, and I've bought the backing material but I will need to get some more padding for in-between. I saw the 'quilting' (not sure if that is the right term) pattern when I was helping my friend, Judith, at a recent quilting show pop-up shop. Instead of trying to run the stitching down the seam, I did it either side and I like the effect on both the front and back of the placemat.

It looks a bit wonky in the picture but it is squarer than it looks (well, pretty much)!
Happy Stitching,
Kerrie

Sledding Snowman Stocking #5

Started on the yellow background last night - this will be quick to do as it fills a fairly large area, and it's only half-cross-stitch - yay! Once I've done around the snowman, I can do the back-stitching and finish him off completely.
Happy Stitching,

Sledding Snowman Stocking #3

I filled in a few gaps last night so the snowman is taking shape. I'm loving this fun design!

Sledding Snowman Stocking #2

I only managed to fill in a bit more of the snowman's body last night as I made a trip to the craft store where they had a 30% off sale. I picked up a cutting board and ruler for my patchwork projects. Now I can return the ones I borrowed from my friend finally.
Happy Stitching,

Sledding Snowman Stocking #1

So here is the next stocking I'll be doing. It is a Dimensions design called Sledding Snowman Stocking. I like how whimsical it is, and it shouldn't take too long as there is quite a bit of unstitched area, as well as large areas of single colours. As you can see, from 2 night's progress, I've already done one full scarf and started the body of the snowman!
I also made it to the fabric store for the backing fabric for the Christmas Sled Stocking. I hope to sew it up next weekend.
 Happy Stitching,
Kerrie

Christmas Sled Stocking #41 - Finished!

I am finally finished - at least a month overdue on my normal stitching time frames (I usually can get a stocking done in about 4 months but my shoulder issues have delayed me this year) - but it is done now and I'm very pleased with it. Now I just have to make a trip to the fabric store and find the perfect backing fabric. I have an idea of what I want, I just hope they have something that matches!

On to the next one...
Happy Stitching,
Kerrie
